Gary Nicholson is a number one hit songwriter, two time Grammy winning producer, recording artist, world traveling performer, and session guitarist. He was inducted into the Texas Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2011. There are over six hundred recordings of his songs in various genres including country, rock, blues, folk, bluegrass, and pop.

After years of writing songs and producing records for others, Gary is now performing regularly, traveling where the music takes him, from his home state of Texas to California, New York City to Belfast, Ireland to Bali, Indonesia, and Havana, Cuba.

Gary performs solo singer/songwriter style doing his country and Americana material and with his various bands as his alternate persona Whitey Johnson, featuring his blues songs and giving him the opportunity to play some Texas blues electric guitar.

He has appeared at many prestigious venues including The Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe, (Nashville, Tn), Austin City Limits Theater, Antones, The Cactus Cafe, The Saxon Pub, (Austin Tx), The Dosey Doe, Woodlands, Tx, The Bottom Line, NYC, The Birchmere, Alexandria Va., Knuckleheads, Kansas City, Mountain Stage, West Virginia, Whelan’s, Dublin, Ireland, and so many others.

He has performed on Delbert McClinton’s Sandy Beaches cruise for twenty five years and this year on the Joe Bonamassa Keeping the Blues Alive Cruise
